As the sun began it’s descent in the vineyards that day, a bride stepped out into the arms of the two men who had raised her and lead her and a man stood at the end of a path watching his bride come toward him. There was a moment that lasted briefly but is frozen in time where two father’s kissed their daughter’s cheek and and the man she had chosen shook their hands. In that moment, a groom’s emotional strength dispelled for a passing moment as he took, lovingly and with promise, the bride before him. The two, Laura and Rudy, walked before their friends and family and promised their lives to each other.

I am still in awe of the invitation I am given to peek in on such a profound and personal promise of a couple’s life that starts as two and becomes one forever. I had the chance to see Rudy stare at Laura as if it was the first day he had ever seen her. I saw Laura hold onto Rudy like if she never had to leave his arms, it would be okay with her. I am a witness behind a lens but in a very real way, I leave with two friends and a prayer in my heart for the road ahead.
Laura & Rudy, I am so excited for the life you have begun together! May it be as fun, as loving, and as joyous as it was this day!
