As a parent, the transformation of a child is daunting. In the beginning, you count seconds, minutes, and then hours until they fade into weeks and later, the weeks fade into months. Always counting. Counting: ounces, pounds, milestones, percentiles, teeth; time. One life can change understanding on so many unfathomable levels that are whispering shouts of profound.
Canon Joseph. Sweet baby boy.
Somehow time became the proverbial rabbit’s hole. One moment a tiny, dependent life in the arms of your mother and now the question barrels down, when did you become a boy? The transition was seamless as a mother wonders, “How did we get here? Where did my precious time go.” 365 days, 1 Year. Amazing.
Counting; no longer seconds, minutes, hours, weeks, or months but years.
Sweet baby boy. What a joy. Frozen forever in this moment.
